Vest Presented to Riverside and Carbon Hill18-Jul-2018

The Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police presented body armor to Riverside Police Department and Carbon Hill Police Department on July 12, 2018 and July 13, 2018.Both of the departments received the grant for vests through the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police Vest program. This life saving equipment is vital to the functions of front line officers in our communities. Each vest comes at a cost of approximately $600 which saves a department a significant budget amount when they receive a grant from the FOP.
State FOP President Everette Johnson made the presentations and spoke with Chief Oliver at Riverside PD and Chief House of Carbon Hill PD. These chiefs expressed their thankfulness for receiving the vests. President Johnson stated “Violence against law enforcement has increased and having this tool with this protection is very important.” The Alabama State FOP has awarded 34 vests during 2018.
The Alabama State FOP is the largest law enforcement organization in Alabama with approximately 7700 members.
