I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Alabama State Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police. Our mission is to improve working conditions for the law enforcement officers of this great state. We do this through legislation, education, and involvement in community affairs. We have recently approved a legal defense plan that is available to members for a small fee in addition to their regular dues. We have plans for other legislation to provide better health, welfare, and retirement benefits for police officers all across the state. Our organization is different from most, being that we represent all law enforcement officers no matter what branch they come from. We are also the largest police organization in the world with over 310,000 members just in the Unites States alone and 7800 in the state of Alabama. I encourage you to support the Fraternal Order of Police in our state and recruit new members to join your lodge. Tell them what the Fraternal Order of Police is all about and what we can offer. I think you will agree that there is no other organization that can compare to ours. In closing, I would encourage you to contact any of the state officers on the executive board for any help or needs that you or your lodge may have.
