Duty Called

A 13-foot-tall cast bronze sculpture erected in 1985 by artist Branko Medenica, stands on the south lawn of the State Capitol Building in Montgomery, Ala. It honors the sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have laid down their lives while protecting their communities and standing for justice. Each May, the Alabama FOP holds a service here to pay respect to officers recently lost in the line of duty.
